Paintest Pintech
The Pintech is a multi-voltage Pinhole Detector that uses the wet sponge principle
to detect through-pinholes, cracks and damaged areas on non-conductive
coatings on conductive substrates. These flaws would eventually lead to
corrosion and premature failure of the coating.
Operation is by the application of a wet sponge to the coating. The wetting agent penetrates any pinhole and makes a conductive path through to the substrate. The Pintech automatically detects this conductive path, sounds an audible alarm and gives you a visual warning by a flashing red indicator, showing that a pinhole fault has been detected. The flaw can now be marked for repair and further testing resumed.
The Pintech has selectable test voltages of 9 Volt, 67.5 Volt and 90 Volt, which comply with ASTM G62A, ASTM G6 and NACE RP0188-88 specifications.
Accuracy of test voltage ±1%, ±0.1 Volt.
Calibration Certificates are available with traceability to UKAS.
Generally 9 Volt will test up to 300 Microns and 90 Volt will test up to 500 Microns.
The Pintech is supplied ready to use in a Carrying Case complete with Handle/Sponge, Earth Cable and Battery fitted.
